The group members were formed from the "Idol Unit Audition" that was held in May 2011. Combining the word "柳都(Ryuto)" that describes Niigata city and the word "Artist", they were named as "RYUTist" with the meaning "Artist born in Niigata". The group consists of 4 members, Nonoko Sato(leader), Tomoe Uno, Mu Ikarashi, and Miku Yokoyama, which all grew up in Niigata. They are mainly performing at a LIVEHOUSE Niigata SHOW!CASE!! located in Furumachi Nanabancho in Niigata city. Besides this, they are also participating in many events all over Japan.
